Jonathan Smith
MSc,BSc, FSOMM, MCSP HCPC- PH648289
Clinic Director and Principal Physiotherapist
Jonathan graduated at the University of Huddersfield, obtaining a 1st class BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Since then, he has specialised in Musculoskeletal Medicine, obtaining both a Masters Degree (MSc) and Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Medicine (FSOMM).
Jonathan is the Chair of Education for Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine and a Course Principal tutor. He is one of only 3 people with these qualifications within the UK. He also has Diplomas in Advanced Clinical Practice and Injection Therapy.
Jonathan lectures both Nationally and Internationally on Musculoskeletal Medicine courses to GP’s, Physiotherapists and Osteopaths and was a guest speaker at the Orthopaedic Medicine International low back pain conference in Alingsas, Sweeden in 2023 (see below). He has extensive experience in assessment and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, including Injection Therapy.
Jonathan used to work in the NHS as an Extended Scope Physiotherapist, where he specialised in the assessment and treatment of both upper and lower limb conditions. Through this work, he has formed excellent working relationships with some of the best Orthopaedic Consultants in the UK.
Professionally, Jonathan is state registered and is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), the Health Professions Council (HPC), the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine (SOMM) and the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Orthopaedic Medicine and Injection Therapy (ACPOMIT). Jonathan is also a full member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AACP).

Dominic Walcott
(BSc, MCSP, SRP) HCPC – PH 105175
Clinical Lead Physiotherapist
Dom graduated from Brighton University in 2014 with a BSc(Hons) in Physiotherapy. He completed his junior rotations at Frimley Park Hospital before deciding to specialize in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Since then, he has worked in outpatient clinics in Sandhurst, Bracknell and Slough including some GP practices. Dom has had extensive experience treating musculoskeletal disorders and takes pride in helping people to achieve their specific goals. His areas of interest include pain management and sports rehabilitation.
In his spare time he enjoys running, playing the drums, bouldering and kickboxing. Dom has spent several years training in various martial arts and achieved a 1st dan black belt in Taijutsu. Dom is also a proud father of two.
Jessica Reed
(BSc, SRP, MCSP, AACP) HCPC – PH118362
Jessica graduated from the University of Southampton with a 1st class BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy in 2019. Jessica has worked at Frimley Park Hospital and Royal Surrey County Hospital prior to joining Thorpes Physiotherapy since 2021. Jessica has a keen interest in a variety of conditions and joints of all ages. Whether you’re suffering from lower back pain, ligament or tendon injury or an arthritic knee Jessica has your back!
Prior to Jessica’s physiotherapy degree she completed a music degree from the University of Surrey, with a keen interest in playing drums, piano and guitar. Jessica loves to exercise! Her favourite activities are cycling, squash, strength training, HIIT and swimming.
Jessica is very passionate about getting the best out of you and improving your quality of life whether you want to get back sport or just go for a simple walk. Jessica regularly participates in courses to keep up to date with the latest evidence.
Jessica is very open, friendly and likes to make physiotherapy fun!
Ben Gallagher

Physiotherapist
Ben graduated from the University of Southampton in 2000 with a BSc Honours degree in Physiotherapy. Currently Ben works within both the military and private sector; he has also worked with national level American Football and Basketball teams. During his time in the NHS Ben was the Area Co-ordinator for the international ACTIVE trial: a study of the benefits of Autologous Chondrocyte Transplantation/Implantation in the knee. Ben has a specialist interest in Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction, Cervicogenic headaches and facial palsys. Ben is registered with the Health Professions council, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, and the Acupuncture association of Chartered Physiotherapists. Ben is currently studying for a Master’s degree with the MACP
Kate McGowan

Kate is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Sport Scientist. She started as an NHS Physiotherapy Technician in 1998 before going on to graduate with a Physiotherapy degree in 2005 from Brunel University. Kate then worked at Ashford and St Peter’s NHS Trust and Surrey Primary Care Trust. Since leaving the NHS, Kate has worked in private clinics where she specialises in musculoskeletal Physiotherapy with everyone from teenagers to the elderly.
Kate is an approachable, friendly practitioner who builds a good rapport with her patients. She is registered with the Health Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Kate is an avid sports enthusiast with a keen interest in squash and hockey, having played both at an international level.
Louise Parker
(Grad Dip Physio, MCSP SRP) HCPC – PH32472
Physiotherapist
Louise qualified in 1984 at Prince of Wales School of physiotherapy and has gained over 30 years experience in the NHS and privately. This includes some highly respected hospitals including the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases and the Royal United Hospital in Bath, as well as Frimley Park Hospital. Louise has always enjoyed learning new skills and after gaining general physiotherapy experience undertook post graduate training to gain diplomas in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and Orthopaedic Medicine. This has led to a special interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and in particular spinal problems
Out-side work Louise has a love for the out-doors and is a keen Hill walker and mountain biker. She has competed successfully in mountain bike cross country races for over 20 years and continues to do so giving her an insight into the needs of the active individual especially as they get older!
Helena Cary

Physiotherapist
Helena is a chartered physiotherapist with over 15 years experience treating a range of musculoskeletal conditions and specialises in sports injuries and Women’s pelvic health.
She qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2006, initially gaining experience within the NHS and then going on to work for the military for 10 years.
Within this time Helena completed studies towards an MSc in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy and became a regional clinical lead for Women’s health. She is also a member of the special interest group POGP (Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy) and is a qualified Pilates teacher with the APPI ( Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute).
Jasmine Tang

Jasmine graduated with honors in Physiotherapy from St. George’s University of London. With extensive experience in esteemed London hospitals, she has also completed diverse rotations at Frimley Park Hospital. Jasmine has developed a profound interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, treating various MSK conditions and sports injuries across different age groups.
As an esteemed member of CSP, HCPC and a certified acupuncturist with the AACP, Jasmine is dedicated to delivering compassionate treatment and care. She remains committed to her professional growth, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance her expertise, ensuring her clients receive optimal care and outcomes.
With a background in county-level competitive swimming and district sports, Jasmine now enjoys the gym, strength and cardio, and spending quality time with loved ones and her dog.
Kate Searle

Paediatric Physiotherapist
Kate is a Chartered Physiotherapist who has spent the majority of her almost 20 year career developing skills and expertise treating babies, children and young people with musculoskeletal problems.
Children with musculoskeletal conditions need a tailored approach. Kate is adept at formulating a treatment plan that aids recovery and facilitates a swift return to sports and activities. She works with the child / young person and their parent / guardian to understand the particular impact of the problem and to understand their motivation for recovery.
When not working at Thorpes she also works in the NHS, leading the Paediatric Physiotherapy Team at Frimley Park Hospital.
Outside of work she has two children of her own and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Amy Cogdon
(Bsc Hons Sport Therapy and Rehab)
Sports and Massage Therapist
Amy recently graduated from Buckinghamshire New University, obtaining a first-class BSc Honours Degree in Sports Therapy. Following this, Amy has worked in semi-professional football and elite futsal. Most recently, Amy experienced the intense level of elite sport when working in the UEFA Futsal Champions League. Amy has provided assessment, testing, and treatment of MSK injuries, including level 4 Sports Massage, to enable people back to optimal performance.
Amy has played at academy-level football, where she competed in elite settings until the age of 15. Due to her passion for sport, she still plays locally. Amy has also helped those close to her recover from life changing experiences. Consequently, Amy has an appreciation and passion to help people return to daily activities or performance, and to achieve their goals. Also giving her a great understanding of the importance of regular exercise on mental and physical well being.

Sarah has previously worked in the I.T/Telecomms industry but more recently within the NHS in a customer service role. Sarah is passionate about customer service and does all she can to ensure patients are made to feel relaxed and respected. Sarah likes to spend her spare time with family and friends, bike riding and walking her dog.
Jane Wilkinson

Jane has worked at Thorpes since 2013 and is passionate at ensuring the patient journey is as seamless as possible, and that she and the Admin Team continue to deliver the highest level of customer service.
Outisde of work Jane has a keen interest in interior design and cooking.
